September 3rd 2010

Rehearsals are going extremely well are the boys are about to unleash the new (and old) material on the rock public. We will be annoucing dates in the coming weeks and can't wait to get out and play.

August 2010

New members announced

It's with great pleasure that we can confirm that Bobby Gough (former October Country Bassist) has
joined the band. We are also thrilled that Tigertailz's drummer Matt Blakout has agreed to help out
with the drumming duties. Welcome boys, come join the fun!

July 2010

The album is finished and we're itching to get out and play the new songs, it's just the small matter of putting together a live band to play these tunes. We've got a couple of guys in mind, we'll keep you posted.

June 2010

Max and Lizzy have recently commenced work on the long awaited follow-up to the 'Confessions' EP. The new album will be entitled 'Shoot the Crow' and will hopefully be released by the end of September. Although they are treating this as a new project they have decided to retain the name Hangfire as a tribute to their fallen brother Aaron. They have decided to go forward without Paul, but wish him all the best in whatever musical ventures he pursues. Thay have enlisted the helped of Ginger (drums) and Lyndon (guitars) both from the group' Axe to grind', with Lizzy providing the bass guitar on the album. The album is again being recorded at Red Rock Studios, Pengum.

December 2009

As you can imagine it's been a very upsetting time for everyone in the band, and we're taking some time out to decide on the future of Hangfire (if indeed there is one). Looking for a new drummer is something we can't even consider at the moment, and finding someone to replace Aaron may be an impossible task.

November 2009

Loss of a brother

With great sadness we announce that our drummer, bandmate and brother Aaron has died. For obvious
reasons we have put the band on hold while we deal with the loss of such and important part of the band.

For those who knew him, and those who had the good fortune to have played with him, you know what an incredibly talented drummer he was, and what a great asset to a band he was. You'll also know what a funny man he was.

His funeral was held at Ellis Williams Chapel in Newbridge on friday 27th November at 10am then
he was layed to rest at the Chapel of Ease cemetery in Abercarn.

Aaron, rest in peace man. Lizzy, Max, Paul & Dale.

September 2009

For those of you that were there at the album launch on the 26th, thank you all for your support,
and for making it a great night. With hindsight the gig should have been postponed considering
Aaron's state of health, but we're glad that it did go ahead.
Thanks again to all who helped to make it a truely memorable night.

August 2009

Finally confirmed!!

Hangfire's long awaited live debut, and CD launch night. Saturday 26th September at The Promised Land, Windsor Place, Cardiff (just off Queen's Street), from 8pm. Also featuring a DJ set from Red Dragon & Bogiez legendary disc spinner PJ

July 2009

Good news Lizzy is well on the mend, unfortunately, Aaron has just been admitted to hospital (with a stomach ulser), so once again we have had to delay the CD launch. We'll keep you posted.

May 2009

Lizzy is out of hospital, so with a bit of rehab and some TLC we should be back on track very soon. The boys are itching to get out there and play the songs from the CD as well as a few new tracks

March 2009

Regrettably, due to Lizzy's longer than expected stay in hospital, the upcoming shows we had planned have been put on hold. We expect Lizzy to make a full recovery and be back kicking and screaming in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for more announcements very soon.
